Our Story — McCluer High School Class of 2006

We are the class that grew up together.

Long before social media kept everyone connected, we built our friendships in hallways, on playgrounds, at football games, in lunch lines, on school buses, and in neighborhoods all across North County. Many of us started this journey together as kids in Ferguson, Florissant, Berkeley, Dellwood, and surrounding communities — learning our ABCs side by side before we ever knew what life would eventually ask of us.

The McCluer High School Class of 2006 came through an era that felt different. We grew up in a time of house phones, CD players, AIM screen names, MySpace pages, and Friday nights that were about being outside until the streetlights came on. We watched the world change in real time — from the excitement and uncertainty surrounding Y2K, to the tragedy of 9/11, to the rapid rise of technology that transformed the way we communicated forever.

But beyond the headlines and history books, what truly shaped us were the moments we lived together.

We experienced the awkwardness of middle school, the pressure of trying to figure out who we were, and the excitement of becoming who we wanted to be. We celebrated championships, talent shows, dances, graduations, and first loves. We also carried the weight of losses, hardships, family struggles, and the realities of growing up faster than we sometimes wanted to.

Some of us were athletes. Some were musicians, artists, scholars, leaders, comedians, dreamers, or quiet observers trying to find our place. Some of us stayed close after graduation, while others traveled far away chasing careers, families, and purpose. Yet no matter where life took us, we all share something that can never be replaced:

We are Comets.

The Class of 2006 represents resilience, pride, growth, and community. We came from different backgrounds and walked different paths, but we all walked the same halls and heard the same bells ring between classes. We remember the teachers who pushed us, the friendships that carried us, and the moments that still make us laugh twenty years later.

Now, as we come together again, this reunion is bigger than just remembering the past. It is about honoring the journey. It is about celebrating who we were, recognizing who we have become, and appreciating the fact that after all these years, we still have a connection that time cannot erase.

Twenty years later, we are still writing our story.
